This treatment is not recommended if you have an important event within 2 weeks of injection due to potential for bruising.

Avoiding herbal supplements such as Ginko, garlic, vitamin E, green tea and anti-inflammatories (eg. Asprin) of any kind for 3 days before treatment can help limit bruising.

For the first 4-6 hours following treatment, remain upright to avoid continuous pressure on the area, and periodically (every 5-10 min x 1 hour) preform the facial movements in the area of injections in order to work the product into the muscle.  (Eg. smile, squint etc)

Do not participate in activities that include high intensity exercise or high heat exposure like hot tubs or sauna for 4-6 hours. (It takes this time for the product to bind to the nerve and you do not want to increase circulation at that time.

Limit rubbing or touching treated areas for 4-6 hours, normal skin care is fine.

Bruising in the are injected is uncommon but NORMAL, especially if treated around the eyes.  Bruising can last up to several weeks.  Using Arnica may help diminish bruising.

It may take up to 14 days for the treatment to take full effect.  At this time movement will be softened but static lines (lines seen at rest) will still be present.  With continued regular treatment, these will typically continue to soften and improve.

A follow-up visit at 2 weeks is suggested if there are any concerns or inadequate results, particularly if you are a first time client.  If full correction is not achieved, you will need to purchase additional product for injection.

Re-treatment is typically between 2-6 months.

Regular injections may yield a longer lasting result, especially for areas such as frown lines and in the forehead.

If your upper lip was treated, you may not be able to drink through a straw, whistle, or enunciate some words for approximately 2 weeks once the product is at full effect.

Although exceedingly rate, infection in the injected area is possible.  Signs of infection may include redness and tenderness in the infected area and fever.  Should you develop an infection, antibiotics may be necessary.  Please contact us with any concerns.
